Hello! I am Keith Schikore, and I’m a Photographer, Video Editor, and Producer based in Los Angeles. I believe that filmmaking and visual media are the culmination of creative expression and can bring people together to communicate relevant facets of the human experience in an invaluable manner.
As a child, I always had a point-and-shoot camera in my hands on family outings, and started video editing skateboarding videos in-camera, by rewinding the dv-tape and timing the cuts while shooting. Over the years my tools and skillset have become more sophisticated, but I’ve still hung onto that childlike giddiness when embarking on a new creative endeavor.
Since those early days, I have been video editing numerous narrative and documentary projects, including Chef Darren: The Challenge of Profound Deafness, featured nationwide on PBS and winning The Silver Spotlight Film Award.
I have recently finished photographing my first book, Keto Like a Chef by Chef Jason Raffin, that elevates the food of the Keto Diet to restaurant quality cuisine. Due out in 2021.
Previously, I managed the instruction and scheduling of a non-profit program, Futures Explored: Film and Media Workshop, that taught filmmaking to people with developmental disabilities. With a hands-on approach, we empowered our students to tell their unique stories and obtain paid working opportunities within the film industry.
I continue to strive for growth and collaboration with individuals of all walks of life, and I am eager to see where the next chapters lead!
